What enchantment adds
Enchantment adds HP to eligible equipment. The exact amount is shown as Enchanted HP in the inspection tooltip and contributes to your character's maximum life while the item is equipped.

Choose the right target
Enchanting compares the offered value with the value already on the target and only keeps an improvement. Use it on durable pieces you expect to wear, not equipment you are about to compose away.
